OH WORD?
» B-B-Bonus This Week in Outsider Art «
Did you know that every Wednesday a bonus “This Week in Outsider Art” newsletter comes out?For only $5/month or $45/year you can get not one but two newsletters a week from me, Adam Oestreich, the proprietor and curator of @folkartwork.
It’s been a little over a year since this newsletter has debuted on Substack, and in one year that’s 52 free newsletters and 52 “B-B-Bonus” newsletters. Whoa, that’s a lot of self-taught, folk, outsider, and visionary art from around the world!
Paid subscribers will see my “Find of the Week”, must-see shows across the country, emerging artists whom you should be following, views from my personal collection, and a deep dive (10-12 more beautiful works of art a week!) into artists, collections, and some of my favorite folk art finds that instead of sitting open on my computer for months, I have decided to share directly with you.
Past deep dives, all of which can be viewed for eternity in the archives, include:
Testimonials about the ‘B-B-Bonus Newsletter’:
People (my wife) have said:
“You’re funny”
“Where do you come up with this stuff?
People who I’m not married to have said:
"Great content and links for folk art."
"I supported this work because you give so generously and I believe it's vital to celebrate art created beyond the industrial art complex."
Thank you for all your continued support and for reading this newsletter. I really enjoy putting it together and it makes me happy to know that some people enjoy reading it.
SHOUT OUT
Shout out to this Unknown Man, who died 116 years ago. Located in Goldfield, Nevada — reported in a 1908 edition of the Reno-Gazette as a hungry vagrant who found the jar of paste in the trash, succumbed near an automobile garage, and then was autopsied by the county physician, who in the process discovered the man’s last meal.
