SHOUT OUT

Shout out to all the dads out there! The best job in the world!!!
PLUS, some fun ones you get to see early that will also make their way to Instagram later today.

"In The Comfort and Service My Daddy Brings to Our Household, Richard Dial personalizes a countering African American position in which the father, depicted as first a conflation of household throne and shotgun house, and second as a servant ready to support the burdens of his family, assumes the dual roles of master and servant performed by Thornton Dial through the years." (Souls Grown Deep Foundation)
And the dynamic wood carving father-son duo of Felipe and Leroy Archuleta via Just Folk

"Leroy Ramon Archuleta began carving wooden animals at the age of 16 at his home in Tesuque, New Mexico. Like his father, Felipe, he carved animals that were native to New Mexico and animals pictured in children's books. Explaining how his sculptures are distinctive from his father's, he said, "I use sandpaper, for instance; he wouldn't take the time," and he would sometimes use actual skulls or antlers of animals." (American Visionary Art Museum)
FROM THE COLLECTIVE

LINDA DILEVA’s art shines light on a girlish whimsy, with a twinge of melancholy. She takes imagery from the pages of her childhood (flowers, stars, mermaids, unicorns), and memories from the places that imprinted on her soul. Her art explores dualities like togetherness/ isolation, a longing for nature, and the newfound perspective of motherhood while still striving for self, love, and friendship.
