FIND OF THE WEEK
Well, there’s one guaranteed way to make it to the highly anticipated “find of the week”, it’s be a work of art created by the one and only William Hawkins.
As I’ve probably written here a dozen of times, I both think I am the president of the William Hawkins fan club and think I have seen every William Hawkins every created. But I know, neither of those are true, because if there’s anyone who can confidently say those things it would be the only and only Frank Maresca.
Not only does Frank and the Ricco/Maresca Gallery have one of the greatest collections of works by Hawkins, Frank was instrumental in the art-making and distributing of Hawkins works. As he mentioned in his post of this work, “to accompany the artist on his walks through the streets of Columbus was like following an experienced prospector in search of gold”.
I have seen a few “did comets kill the dinosaurs” works before, but never this one. And I’m very glad I did. Thanks, as always, to Frank.
