WATCHING AND READING
Here are a few things I’ve been watching this past week:

Remembering Timothy Wyllie: Mystical Artist and His Dolphin Companions
Here are a few things I’ve been reading this past week:
OH WORD?

Some things are just meant to be. After first corresponding with Lesley Miserables a few years ago as he was just first beginning to pick up a paint brush and finding his groove, the artist M. Turner and I have finally partnered up to bring to you his enchanting self-taught works exploring nature and it's influence, through a stream of colorful consciousness.
The London based artist brings some playful expressionism from across the pond to the FolkArtwork Collective, the second artist added this year after a wildly successful start to the year at the 2025 Outsider Art Fair (and now that things have finally settled down and I’ve caught up on my sleep!), and he will be the second artist selling work from the United Kingdom.
LESLEY MISERABLES is painter M. Turner. Growing up in the heart of the Midlands, with thick dense city scapes just a few miles away from roaring country side, where a clear night time sky was observed, with the wonder and mysteries of life and an existence soaked into the mind and body and stored somewhere to be revisited another time.
Now based full time in London, from a sturdy shed at the bottom of his garden, M. Turner therapeutically works his way through years of mental images, feelings and thoughts, considerations and perplexmxent are now attempted to be brushed down onto a canvas.
SHOUT OUT
Shout out to friend Charles Are Jerry who is in need of your assistance. A man who long has done so much for others, especially advocating for and relentlessly highlighting his students artwork from Haiti, could use your help if you’re able. Jerry is in urgent need of hernia surgery and is trying to raise funds to help make it happen, something proving extremely difficult with the collapse of Haiti’s healthcare system and overall insecurity. Just past 25% of his goal, if you can, your help would go a long way.
FROM THE COLLECTIVE

RENEESHA MCCOY is a self-taught artist who began her artistic practice in 2019, living and working in North Carolina. Working primarily in acrylics and oil pastels, she often explores of various mediums like colored pencil, ink, and paint markers. A principle theme in Reneesha’s work is her celebration of the consequence of life and nature. Primarily in relation to the female body, her work is uniquely abstract. She uses her personal experience to highlight the internal and external effects of childbirth. Particularly the physical changes that occur from breastfeeding.
