A work from the inside of Polina Raiko's home, a Ukrainian folk artist who painted nearly every square inch of her home at the age of sixty-nine years old. Due to Russia's war on Ukraine, her home has been almost completely demolished as it has sit empty since her death in 2004. ❤️

OH WORD?

This past week, an English teacher at school approached me and asked if I happened to know of any good documentaries that could be shown in one class period. Lucky for her and me, I was born for this moment.

One of my all-time favorite documentaries is the one you see above, “Possum Trot: The Life and Work of Calvin Black,” directed by Allie Light and Irving Saraf. Not only did they direct this excellent documentary on a one-of-a-kind environment out in the desert, but part of their “Visions of Paradise” series, there are four more extremely wonderful must-watch documentaries that could be watched in one class period, or thirty minutes, however you delineate time.
