FEATURED ARTIST OF THE WEEK

FRIENDS WHO NEED YOUR HELP…
Times are tough everywhere. Please support these friends if you are willing and able.
PALESTINE: My friend Maram and her children are still suffering in Gaza and could use your help for basic necessities to live a daily life.
NYC: Artist Max Colby has been suffering from medical issues for the past year and has been unable to make art, and could use your help if you’re willing and able, as she recovers from surgeries.
COLORADO: Daniel Bishop, son of the visionary artist and creator of Bishop Castle, has suffered major injuries in an accident near the environment, plus the Colorado wildfires are dangerously close to the castle and could use your help as they recover.
OH WORD?
Too scared to go up to the top of the golden dome but did get to take some pics of the jaw dropping design and architecture of the Iowa State Capital and play hide and go seek with my 5-year-old in one of the most beautiful libraries in the world ❤️

SHOUT OUT
Shout out to the one and only Dean Millien, an incredible alumnium foil artist who is putting on two great opportunities to hear him talk and see him work — including a “Disability Art Chat” on Thursday, July 30th, and the artmaking event “Cats and Rats: Workshop with Dean Millien” on August, 1st!
FROM THE COLLECTIVE

JAMES ASH always wanted to be an art teacher. For various reasons, including addiction, his mental health, and living without internet in the Michigan woods, he never became an art teacher. So he taught himself how to make art. In 2021, James Ash passed away at the age of seventy-one. His daughter, Anna had the task of cleaning out his cabin and deciding what to do with the two dozen large, colorful, surreal, and enigmatic paintings. The goal has always been to share them with as many people as possible.
