Sarah Mary Taylor, Hands Quilt (date unknown) // Cotton; 68” x 88” via Ledbetters Folk Art Auctions

Sarah Mary Taylor is one of my favorite self-taught artists of all-time. Her quilts, are truly one of a kind and bring a gigantic smile to my face. I would absolutely love to own one some day, and maybe even this one!

It is currently up for auction at Ledbetter’s Folk Art Auction happening this weekend (current bid at $250, estimated $2,000 - $4,000) and maybe, just maybe I’ll finally make it happen. Maybe!!!

This artwork will be available for purchase at Ledbetters Auction this weekend.

Bonus find of the week: this incredible piece from a high school senior at the school I teach at!

This artwork is not available for purchase, sorry.

✌️ every wednesday, this bonus newsletter with bonus outsider art content, including exhibit listings, personal collection highlights, and news of the week, will be sent to paid subscribers. The weekly ‘This Week in Outsider Art’ newsletter that goes out every Sunday morning continues to and will always be free of charge — enjoy ✌️
