FIND ❤️🔥F THE WEEK
I’m very lucky to live in a very lovely, somewhat idyllic neighborhood full of quiet streets, nice humans, and a plethora of adorable critters both big and small. We have a raccoon that lives under our deck, ground squirrels sprinting across our yard dodging errant basketballs from my children, a barn owl that has failed at keeping mice out of our basement, three deer that walk up and down our street as if they are on the neighborhood association board, a neighborhood cat named Drasco and tons of bunnies that roam freely through our untamed landscape of flowers and weeds alike. It’s lovely!
Which means on top of the craziness of eating a meal with a 7-year-old rattling off math problems like he’s preparing for the International Mathematical Olympiad and a 4-year-old who can’t stay still or can’t get over how funny it is to say butt, we can’t eat a meal without someone looking out the windown and shouting, “BUNNY!”.
You’d think it’s the 1930s and we live out on the beautiful sprawling Iowa countryside looking for our next meal. But no. We’re just excited to see i bunnies! And DRASCO! And a BEAR!!!!!! No, no, that’s just a dog.
I don’t mind it. Which is why anytime I see any bunny-related folk art, I think of two things: peacefully eating my peas and carrots to hear a child (sometimes an adult) shout at the top of their lungs “BUNNY!!”, and one of the funniest humans alive, Amy Sedaris.
This rug is a bit out of my price range, but maybe not yours! Get it while the getting is good, or enjoy looking at the beautiful soft palette of this nearly one hundred-year-old rug.
This twin rabbit hooked rug is available for purchase via Rug & Kilim.
