FEATURED ARTIST OF THE WEEK

Per @charlesartjerry: “Since 2019, I’ve been collaborating with an artist named Rober to create metal sculptures of sirens and mermaids. These works are inspired by Haitian culture and spiritual symbolism. Now, I’m creating a new collection in a simpler, more accessible style. I sketch each design on paper first, then cut and shape it by hand from metal.
You can support my work by purchasing available pieces on the website (link in bio), inquiring directly about this new collection, or donating to the GoFundMe that will help fund my upcoming surgery, art materials and also supports Art School Jerry students. Every bit of support means a lot.”

SHOUT OUT
Shout out to Esteban Whiteside for his solo exhibit at the MoCADA Museum in Brooklyn, New York — their inagural exhibit at their new beautiful space. BEYOND RAGE is “a reflection of a satirical volley between political assertions and pop culture musings. Rather than run from the boiling canopy that hovers overhead, here rage sweetens the bitter edge of our collective contempt for the extractive, imperialistic — the twisted reality colonialism has cultivated within and outside of ourselves”. I love Esteban’s works and respect the hell out of him for never holding back. Check out this can’t miss exhibit on view now until August 3rd!
FROM THE COLLECTIVE

LINDSAY CARRAWAY is a self-taught artist who has honed her collage work, blending social, cultural, and political issues with the intricate dreamscapes of her schizophrenic mind. Her art brings to life stereotypes, controversies, and the human spirit, reflecting the terrain of both the world and her inner thoughts. Inspired by her experiences in the South and the challenges of mental, sexual, and physical abuse.
